Sports teams seem to have more of an interest in microbiology that most. In good and bad ways. Sometimes they can get a bit germophobic. But there are some good reasons for their germophobia (even if they go over the top sometimes). This story reports on how the NFL is collaborating with A Duke Professor on trying to develop better infection control methods:

- Frequent hand washing and disinfectant stations
- Mandating post-practice showers
- Making flu and other vaccines readily available
- Treating contagious illnesses early and aggressively
